The Buffalo Bills will certainly rest their starters on Sunday at the New England Patriots (1 p.m. ET) with the AFC East title and No. 2 seeds in hand.
The big question is who the Bills will play in the Wild Card round. It could be the Miami Dolphins, who visit the New York Jets (4:25 p.m.) to finish the season.
Miami needs to win and Denver Broncos loss to Kansas City Chiefs (4:25 p.m.) to do so. The Dolphins have a chance to play the 4-12 Jets, but the Broncos will have a Chiefs team without the motivation to play after their starters are locked in the No. 1 seed.
The Baltimore Ravens enter the playoffs as the 3rd seed after winning their last four games by 92 points.
They are waiting for the 6th seed, which will be the Los Angeles Chargers or the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Currently, Pittsburgh is in the 6th seed after losing to the Bengals on Saturday. However, they are back at No. 5 if the Chargers fall to the Las Vegas Raiders (4:25 p.m.). Both teams may be 10-7, but Pittsburgh won the head-to-head after beating LA 20-10 earlier this season.
For now, the Bengals have to play a nervous waiting game. They need Miami to lose to the Jets and Denver to fall to Kansas City. That's easier said than done, given the Jets' 4-12 record and the Chiefs' lack of ability to play starters, and Denver being at home.
The Houston Texans won the AFC South three weeks ago and will be the No. 4 seed in the AFC. However, they head into Week 18 cold after going 3-5 in their last eight games, following a 31-2 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Christmas Day.
Houston has another chance to advance to the playoffs in any format on Sunday when it visits the Tennessee Titans (1 p.m.).
The Chiefs have secured the number 1 seed and will be playing in the Divisional Round on either the 18th or 19th of January.
The Chargers won the last game after crushing the New England Patriots 40-7 last Saturday. He will finish the season against the team he started with, the Raiders. LA beat Las Vegas 22-10 in Week 1 and will travel to Vegas this time.
A win secures the No. 5 seed and a date with a regular-season Texans team. A loss means a trip to Baltimore, which could make a case for being the NFL's best team right now based on how it's played over the past four weeks.
Denver's future is in his hands. It's a win-and-in for the Broncos, who will go to Buffalo for the playoffs if they beat Kansas City.
If they lose, it's over. If Miami loses to the Jets, the Broncos will lose the franchise against the Bengals due to their 30-24 overtime loss last Saturday. If Miami beats the Jets, then the Dolphins will win the three-game series (7-5 Miami, 6-6 Cincinnati, 5-7 Denver).
