It Edmonton Oilers He finished a great season in a bitter disappointment, after another defeat at the hands of the Florida panthers in the Stanley Cup final. This time, the Cats were done at home 6 with a 5-1 round victory.
The loss leaves the oilers that face another summer of head and soul search while the club tries to find out what was wrong.
But as for the 2025 Stanley Cup final, three players stand out as the most disappointing in the series.
Evander Kane He scored six goals during the Playoffs of the Stanley Cup 2025. But only one of them reached the final.
Kane was largely in silence offensively throughout the series. It once marked the 5-4 loss of double the 2nd match tracks. From there, Kane accumulated 32 minutes of penalty, including 16 in the messy topic of match 3.
The Edmonton Oilers waited more than Kane, as their depth marker had been useful during the first three series. Unfortunately, Florida dried up.
Trent Frederic It was introduced within the trade period to provide hardness and physical, with a punctuation touch to boot.
Frederic, however, provided little to the General Game Play of Edmonton Oilers. Frederic did not record any point in the final series of the Stanley Cup against the Panthers while accumulating 14 minutes of penalty in the chaotic match 3.
Although Frederic was not acquired on the deadline for trade due to his ability to achieve the goals, his inability to offend or defensively put the oilers in a hard place.
A lot has been said Stuart Skinner. Last spring, it was a quiet force behind the Oilers Juggernaut team that seemed to claim the Cup.
This season, unfortunately, Skinner was much more responsible than an asset. His first two beginnings in the Stanley Cup final were Wobbly, but they served. It was his game 4 game of a game that damaged him.
Calvin Pickard picked up the pieces in game 4, keeping the Edmonton Oilers alive in the series. But when Pickard struck the proverbial wall 5, the Oilers had no other resource than to return to Skinner for the game 6.
Fatal error.
Skinner crashed and burned, with the third goal of the Panthers of the Game, a moving example of how Skinner played in the series.
It is easy to speculate that if the oilers had achieved a solid spot, they could be assured in the panthers. But that didn't happen. The reality is that Skinner and Pickard diminished, and the Oilers are now back to the short end of the post.
