“Going to bed at 11pm is not the same as going to bed at 2am”


Carlos Alcaraz's next semi-final at the 2025 ATP Finals in Turin, Italy has been scheduled for a late start on Saturday 15 November. The Spaniard has subsequently reacted to the schedule, suggesting that a late finish to the competition could jeopardize his chances of being at his best for the final or for Sunday's final, if he does not face Felix Zverev. On Friday, November 14, Zverev and Auger-Aliassime will play the final Round Robin match in the Bjorn Borg group. The match will start at 20:30 local time in Turin, being the second match of the day after the conclusion of the opening dead rubber between Jannik Sinner and Ben Shelton, with the Italian already assured of his place in the semis.

Carlos Alcaraz began his 2025 ATP Finals campaign against the speedy Alex de Minaur of Australia. Although the Australian did his best to keep up with Alcaraz, particularly in the first set, it was the Spaniard who eventually came out on top with a 7-6(5), 6-2 win.

The six-time Major champion, however, faced a much tougher test in his next Round Robin stage match against Taylor Fritz. Here, the American took the first set 7-6(2), but Alcaraz held his nerve to win the next two sets 7-5, 6-3.

In his last Round Robin phase exit against Lorenzo MusettiAlcaraz produced a dominant display to defeat the Italian 6-4, 6-1. The win saw the Spaniard finish as the year-end world No.1 for the second time in his career, having previously achieved the feat in 2022.
