Sophie Cunningham drops a weird IG request to help nail her dad's birthday present

The last time Sophie Cunningham made waves on social media, she appeared as a guest caddy for Caitlin Clark's season at The Annika event. Now, Cunningham continues to draw the attention of netizens with a unique request on Instagram.

In an IG story, the Indiana fever ranger asked her followers for help in finding a not-so-common mammal. Apparently, Cunningham is looking for this creature on behalf of someone she loves.

“So my dad's birthday is coming up,” Cunningham said in the IG story. “We have donkeys, mules and horses, but dad has always wanted miniature donkeys… we want to get him a couple of miniature donkeys for his 69th birthday.”

Cunningham, who is the youngest of two siblings, explained that her father Jim does not have social media and urged her friends to keep their mouths shut about the surprise gift.

“If you're in the Midwest or Missouri area and you know people who are trying to sell miniature donkeys, we want spotted or brown ones,” Cunningham specified. “I'm not kidding. Please DM me because we're looking for them and their birthday is December 5th.”

This is a thoughtful gesture from the Fever guard to Jim, who was once a college football athlete. Cunningham's time at the University of Missouri was a legacy passed down to her and her sister Lindsey by her parents Jim and Paula, a former track competitor.

There's no guarantee, of course, that Cunningham's surprise will remain a surprise, given that Jim can find out about it in multiple ways. But with the same determination she shows on the court for her WNBA team, Cunningham will be on the lookout for miniature donkeys in the coming weeks.

The viral clip shows Sophie Cunningham getting on Caitlin Clark's nerves at the Annika event

During Cunningham's first season at Indiana, she quickly became friends with the likes of Caitlin Clark and Lexie Hull. That friendship led to his appearance as a caddy at The Annika, but it didn't always make Clark smile at this event.

A viral clip shows Clark swinging his club and Cunningham making a comment afterward.

“A little left, a little left,” Cunningham says in the clip. An irritated Clark replies, “Girl, I know.”

Cunningham, of course, may have said this on purpose, as Clark is known to be an ultra-competitive person in almost any activity he engages in.
