3 teams that should target David Miller in IPL 2026 auction with Gujarat Titans

South African veteran batsman David Miller will go under the hammer during the IPL auction 2026. Miller was released by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) after the 2025 season.

The South African did not have a great season. He scored just 153 runs in 11 matches at an average of 30.60 and a strike rate of 127.49. However, David Miller has immense experience having played in IPL and international cricket.

Miller started his IPL journey with Punjab Kings (PBKS) in 2012. He stayed with them till 2019 before moving to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2020. In 2022 he moved to the Gujarat Titans (GT) and played a major role in their title-winning season, scoring 481 runs in 16 matches. Moved from GT to LSG in 2025.

In total, David Miller has played in 141 games, scoring 3077 runs at an average of 35.77 and a strike rate of 138.60 with one hundred and 13 half-centuries.

On that note, here are three teams that should target David Miller in the IPL 2026 auction.

#3 Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made big releases in the form of Andrew Russell and Venkatesh Iyer. Hence, they lack a solid finisher in their batting order. Also, with Ajinkya Rahane, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Manish Pandey, Ramandeep Singh and Rinku Singh, they have a strong Indian batting core.

They will require experience and firepower in terms of a foreign batsman who can bring stability to their middle order and finish games as well. Despite not doing well last season, David Miller could be the perfect fit for this role in the KKR set-up.

Normally a surface batsmen enjoy in T20 cricket, the Eden Gardens will suit Miller's aggressive batting style. When the spinners come, he can also come in handy with his ability to play the spinners well.

#2 Gujarat Titans (GT)

Gujarat Titans (GT) are a team that has relied heavily on their top order, as seen last season. Ever since Hardik Pandya's move to Mumbai Indians (MI), they have struggled to find a solid finisher.

Their Indian players like Shah Rukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia have not been as effective. Also, they traded Sherfane Rutherford to MI ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. Hence, they will be on the lookout for a reliable and experienced finisher during the order.

With David Miller having already played in GT and performing well in his title winning season, they could certainly look to bring him back into the mix. Previous experience of being in the facility and knowing the home conditions would be an added advantage.

#1 Delhi Capitals (DC)

Delhi Capitals (DC) had some decent first-class performances, with Abhishek Porel and KL Rahul doing well However, they also struggled when it came to their middle order. A solid finisher is what they would be looking for during the auction as well.

They let go of Donovan Ferreira (switched to RR), Faf du Plessis and Jake Fraser-McGurk and therefore need quality foreign batsmen in their line-up. Having traded Nitish Rana, they have strengthened their top order.

However, they will need an experienced and attacking batsman up the order. While Tristan Stubbs performed well, having David Miller alongside him could add more firepower to the bat, which they lacked last season.
