Dallas Stars youngster Wyatt Johnston scored a hat trick Sunday night in their 6-1 win Ottawa Senators and teammate Colin Blackwell summed up the performance with a two-word reaction on Instagram.
Blackwell shared the Stars' postgame graphic highlighting Johnston's three-goal night on his Instagram Stories. In the caption, he wrote:
“He is He”
The backlash circulated shortly after Dallas posted photos of fans throwing hats onto the ice at the American Airlines Center.

Johnston delivered the fourth hat trick of his NHL career and his most impressive performance of the season on the night. Ottawa opened the scoring early in the second period, but Johnston answered less than two minutes later on the power play with a point shot to tie the game. He added his second power-play goal late in the frame, giving Dallas its first lead of the night.
Early in the third, he completed the hat trick with a rebound at the top of the crease, capping a stretch in which the Stars scored six unanswered goals. Johnston finished with four points, pushing him to 16 goals on the season and extending his league-leading total in power-play goals.
Dallas carried the momentum all night. Jason Robertson, playing in his 400th NHL game, recorded a goal and two assists. Jamie Benn scored on a breakaway in the third and rookie Mavrik Bourque added another on a wrist shot through traffic. Casey DeSmith turned away 15 shots on a quiet, low-volume night in net.
During the postgame media availability, Mikko Rantanen mentioned how valuable Wyatt Johnston has become dallasoffense
He noted that playing alongside him has been easy because Johnston has become one of the team's most reliable finishers this season, especially on the power play.
“It's fun to be there with him. He helps us a lot. He's been a runner this year, we'll take that,” Rantanen said.
“He doesn't need a lot of chances on the power play to score. Today I think he had two chances and two goals. He's very good in tight areas, soft hands and can shoot the puck. Very important on our power play.”
Meanwhile, Wyatt Johnston said his success comes from getting to the net and putting himself in high-percentage spots.
“I think that goes along with how great the players are that we have out there, and they can make plays. For me, it's just getting (to the slot) and being ready to shoot it whenever we have it because guys can find me pretty easy,” Johnston added.
The win improved the Stars to 10-1-1 in their last 12 games.
