The Glep Ep focuses on the question fans have been wondering for years: what does Glep actually do? The Smiling Friends The final episode of season 3 focuses on his interactions at work and his rather peculiar behavior, all while setting the office environment in the festive chaos of Christmas.
Glep is fired because Mr. Boss realizes that Glep has never contributed anything to the company, despite being a co-founder.


Smiling friends The season 3 finale begins with the office full of Christmas spirit. Mr. Boss, who tends to be chaotic, praises the crew for their hard work throughout the year. Pim and Charlie are honored, and all is merry. Things get weird when Mr. Boss questions Glep's purpose in the workplace. No one knows what Glep is up to, leading to an awkward confrontation. Mr. Boss, ever impatient, asks for Glep's job.
This leads to an absurdly tense moment where Mr. Boss aggressively asks Glep:
“What are you really doing around here, man? Say something.”
Glep responds in his usual cryptic way, mumbling gibberish, which only further frustrates Mr. boss The situation escalates, and Mr. Boss, unable to understand why Glep is even there, asks:
“Why did I even hire you in the first place?”

After confronting Mr. Boss, Glep's ego takes a hit. He angrily grabs his tablet, an item he's been seen with often, and smashes it in frustration. In an unexpected turn of events, Glep decides to give up on the spot. In typical Mr. Boss, fire him immediately. Glep's indifference—he walks away to pee—added to the ridiculousness of the scene.

Glep's seemingly minor role in the company is upended as his contributions have never been tangible. The entire office is thrown into confusion, with Glep's presence continually disconcerting everyone around him.

His journey becomes more contemplative after its completion. Occasionally vulnerable, Glep sits alone in a tavern, bemoaning his fate. The waiter, not knowing who Glep is, asks for his ID before serving him alcohol. This moment reveals Glep's true awe-inspiring nature: he is an ancient green creature. Glep was born in AD 329 during the Christianization of the Roman Empire, according to the ID.
A flashback montage shows Glep's unusual life over the millennia. Glep was captured in Rome in AD 476 for his “happy dance”, which brought down the Roman Empire. After accidentally spreading the bubonic plague by turning milk into yogurt, Glep was accused of witchcraft in England in 1347 AD. In 1777 AD, Glep is an outsider during the American Revolution, unable to blend in.
This extensive backstory paints Glep as a tragic figure who has existed throughout history, perpetually unable to fit in or find a place for himself. His inability to connect with those around him has led to his constant isolation, as seen in the scene at the bar, where patrons mock him for causing the plague and ask him to leave.

The biggest revelation comes in 1992, when a younger Glep meets Mr. desperate boss After a market crisis, Mr. Boss is depressed and considering suicide. The odd-looking Glep does his “happy dance,” which miraculously makes Mr. Boss for the first time in a long time. This joyful moment inspires Mr. Boss to found Smiling Friends.
Mr. Boss discovers that Glep was more than just a random office figure moments before firing him. He was co-founder of Mr. boss After this realization, Mr. Boss apologizes to Glep and asks him to go back to work. As usual, Glep agrees and they meet in a strange and unresolved way.
