“Bruh.”
According to Gluck, the group annulled the penalty, as no single part modification was found in the car. Reporting the news he wrote:
“Chase Briscoe wins his resource, the penalty was completely annulled. Resource Board: The group believes that the extension of some of the holes in the spoiler base of the 19 cup cup is caused by the attachment process of this specific spoiler base on the rear cover and not the modification of the part of the single source.”
To give context to the incident, Chase Briscoe was penalized after Daytona 500 when Nascar found that the base of the Spoiler of his number 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota violated the rules. Nascar issued a L2 level penalty, which included a deduction of 100 points for Briscoe, a ten -point penalty, a $ 100,000 fine for Joe Gibbs Racing, and a four -racing suspension for the crew head, James Small.
However, the National Motorsports panel ruled that the problem with the base of the spoiler was due to the process of adherence instead of intentional modifications. As a result, all penalties were terminated. Joe Gibbs Racing's team owner Joe Gibbs, expressed his gratitude, saying (via nascar.com):
“ We appreciate the process that Nascar has launched that we allowed us to present our explanation of what was grown to our team number 19.We are grateful for the consideration and sentence of the National Motorports Appeal Group. With the reversal, Chase Briscoe, which was at the end of the standings, now returns to count, passing to the 15th with 72 points. The decision also restores the lost owner's points of Joe Gibbs Racing, which could be important in the long term.
Fox Sports journalist Bob Pockrass shared the decision of the appeal group, confirming that Chase Briscoe's sentence had been annulled, his restored points, and his team erased any fines or suspensions. Wrote:
“Jgra/Chase Briscoe wins the call to the grief issued after the Daytona 500 through holes at the spoiler base is modified. Its 100 points were restored and there was no suspension to James Small and without fined the team,” he tweeted.
Relieved by the sentence, Briscoe expressed his excitement On social media, thanking the Nascar for allowing the appeal process and thanking his team to help combat the penalty. Said:
“Great Points Day of my career! Let's go back! With all seriousness, thanks to Nascar to give us the option of showing our tests and huge thanks to everyone to Joe Gibbs Racing, who put countless hours to join -everything. “
