Elon Musk claims his son Xavier has a ‘tragic mental illness’ in response to Gavin Newsom’s ‘pro-trans legislation’ speech

Elon Musk has responded to Gavin Newsom’s claim about his efforts for “pro-trans legislation.” He referenced his transgender daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, calling her “mentally ill.”

A post by the handle @america on X (formerly Twitter) on December 11 showed part of Gavin Newsom’s conversation on trans legislation. The governor of California said:

“I want to see trans kids… There is no governor who has done more pro-trans legislation than I have.”

Governor Newsom’s press office shared this post and wrote in the caption:

“Right. We’re sorry your daughter hates you, Elon.”

correct We’re sorry your daughter hates you, Elon.

Musk responded to this post on December 12, writing:

“I assume you mean my son, Xavier, who has a tragic mental illness caused by the evil awakened mind virus you push on vulnerable children. I love Xavier very much and hope he recovers. My daughters are Azure, Exa (her name is Y), and Arcadia, and they really love me very much.”

@GovPressOffice I assume you mean my son, Xavier, who has a tragic mental illness caused by the evil awakened mind virus you push on vulnerable children. I love Xavier so much and I hope he recovers. My daughters are Azure, Exa (her name is Y) and Arcadia, and they really love me

This refers to Elon Musk’s transgender daughter, Vivian, who was named Xavier after her birth. She was born to Musk’s first wife, Justine Wilson, before the couple divorced in 2008. Vivian has a twin brother named Griffin, while Musk and Wilson also gave birth to triplets: Damian, Kai and Saxon.

Elon Musk’s transgender daughter changed her name from Xavier to Vivian in 2022. She filed a motion to change the name and a new birth certificate in April 2022 in Los Angeles County Superior Court in Santa Monica. During the presentation, he wrote:

“I no longer live or want to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”

Meanwhile, in an interview with NBC News, published on July 26, 2024, he criticized Elon Musk for his comments. The Tesla owner had claimed Vivian was “not a girl” and was allegedly “tricked” into receiving trans-related medical treatment.

In response to these comments, Vivian said:

“I think he thought he wasn’t going to say anything and let this go unchallenged. Which I’m not going to, because if you’re going to lie about me, like, blatantly to an audience of millions, I’m not going to let that slide.”

“He was cold. He gets angry very quickly. He’s indifferent and narcissistic,” she added.

She recalled an incident in her fourth grade, where the billionaire allegedly yelled at her, as she said:

“I was in fourth grade. We went on this road trip that I didn’t know was actually just a commercial for one of the cars, I can’t remember which one, and he was constantly yelling at me because my voice was too loud. He was cruel.”

She added that she was an independent adult and didn’t want to be defined by other people’s choices. Meanwhile, Musk claimed that he “lost his son” and that Vivian was “dead, killed by the awakened mind virus.”

The Tesla owner has two more children with singer Grimes: X Æ A-Xii and Exa Dark Sideræl (called Y).
