Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has shared an interesting message on social media after meeting Lionel Messi. The Argentine maestro is in the country for a short “GOAT” tour, fresh from winning the MLS Cup with Inter Miami.
The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner was instrumental in the Herons’ historic triumph, finishing the season with 43 goals and 26 assists in 49 games across competitions. The 38-year-old was also awarded MLS MVP for the 2025 season.

Sachin Tendulkar was full of praise for Lionel Messi after the encounter, thanking the Argentine icon for inspiring the country’s youth.
“When it comes to Leo, if I have to talk about his game, it would not be the right platform. And you know, what is he talked about? He has achieved everything. We really admire his dedication, determination, commitment,” Tendulkar said.
He continued:
“And above all, his humility, the person he is. And on behalf of Bombaykars and Indians, I would like to wish him and his family the best of health and happiness for all of you. Thank you once again for being here and encouraging the youth.”
Lionel Messi has won a record 47 trophies in his career, three of which were lifted with Inter Miami. The winner of the FIFA World Cup 2022 has also won everything on offer Argentina.
The ex-Barcelona player’s future with the Herons has been the subject of speculation for some time, especially as his previous contract was set to expire at the end of the year. However, Messi has since signed a new deal at the Chase Stadium until the end of 2028.
