A source revealed to the publication that the mistake happened at a bad time, as NXT was nearing the end of the year filming before the holidays. Fightful’s report noted that people were struggling to try to make sense of things they had already filmed after the title change.
Blake Monroe reportedly had his wind knocked out, making him unable to eject after Hail’s move, but this could not be confirmed. The report added that an NXT higher-up suggested that this could lead to policy changes for the talent and require them to be there until the end of the tapings.
Blake Monroe spent some time in All Elite Wrestling competing as Mariah May before signing with WWE earlier this year.
