GTA Vice City has recently been brought to web browsers through a website that allows anyone to enjoy the game. Rockstar Games has not yet said anything about this port, but this will allow almost everyone to enjoy the iconic video game from 2002. The development team that made it possible clearly explained their process of running the game through any browser.
Here are more details on GTA Vice City can be played through web browsers.
GTA Vice City on web browsers was essentially made possible because of a reverse-engineered source code of the game that was uploaded to GitHub in 2020 by a group of developers. Although it is original page it has now been taken down, others have they have reposted their work on GitHub for more people to download and use the code. Even these reuploaded repositories have no download links working properly as of now.
However, a website called Dos Zone has recently been launched, which allows players to enjoy old titles through a browser GTA Vice City like a web browser game. When the page opens, it will show that players can play the demo version of the game for free or they will have to verify that they own the game to play the full version.
After clicking the demo button, the browser will automatically switch to full screen mode and the game will launch, similar to how the game launches when launched from any other launcher. It will run surprisingly smoothly, at full native resolution, with correct sounds and keybindings.

Below the game screen, the Dos Zone team stated that this port was possible due to the open source game code that was invested by a group of programmers under the name of the “reVC” project. They then explained how they also reworked the game engine to ensure smooth fps, input handling, audio and more. The website even allows players to save progress locally or in the cloud.
The Dos Zone team has also put a disclaimer that this project is an independent, non-commercial technology demonstration. Also, it is in no way connected to the original developers, Rockstar Games. The website reiterated that this was only a demo and players will need to verify their purchase of the game to play the full version.
