Vietnam’s GOW disqualified from FFMAI 2025 Clash Squad for breaking the rules

The popular GOW club has been disqualified from the Free Fire Asia Invitational (FFMAI) 2025 for violating the rules of the competition. The team used a breakdown in the game against India’s NG Pros to gain an advantage in their first match on December 19, where they won 2-1. NG Pros have earned a place in the quarter finals.

The Clash Squad of the FFMAI 2025 started on December 18 with 16 teams. Eight teams have secured their places in the quarter-finals after their impressive performances in the qualifiers, while the remaining eight were eliminated. Clash Squad mode will end on December 21, 2025.

GOW faces disqualification from FFMAI 2025

On December 20, Garena officially announced GOW’s disqualification from the Asia Cup Invitational 2025 CS. The publisher posted on their social media pages:

“FFMAI 2025 Tournament Officials have conducted a thorough investigation following Match 7 of the Clash Squad Main Event, where evidence of deliberate exploitation of a game bug was identified. The conclusion of the investigation has confirmed the misconduct of GOW Esports, who deliberately used a game glitch to gain an unfair competitive advantage. Rule 7.2, “Deliberate Exploitation of Game Bugs / Glitch”, has been given GOW Esports an immediate disqualification (DQ) penalty from the tournament.”

In addition, the company added:

“As a result of this decision, their opponents, NG Pros, will advance to the quarterfinals and are scheduled to play Meta Ninza. Potential additional sanctions, in addition to the immediate sanctions, which may be imposed at a later date, are currently being reviewed.”

GOW lost their first round match against NG Pros in the qualifiers. The Vietnamese side rallied to win the second and third rounds of the match. The club has now been disqualified for breaching the rules of FFMAI 2025. NG Pros will now play Meta Ninza in the quarter finals.

In the qualifiers, many popular teams, com Total Gaming SportsGodLike and Kagendra, failed to perform well and secure a place in the quarter finals.

Eight teams will now compete in the quarter-finals on December 20. Four teams will take their places in the semi-final, while the remaining four will be eliminated from the Asia Invitational 2025. The semi-final and final of the event will take place on December 21.
