Thanks for sending!
However, his victory at Daytona in 2003 made him the first driver to reach victory lane in three consecutive National Series. At age 33, Biffle finished 20th in the standings that season. He later redeemed himself by taking the pole position in the 2004 Daytona 500.
A grateful Biffle had this to say after his first Cup win at Daytona,
“I’ll tell you what, it feels great. I wouldn’t have learned as much from Dale Earnhardt Jr. and all those guys up there. They taught me a lot and it’s great with all the fans here at Daytona, it’s really exciting to be in Victory Lane at Daytona.”
Greg Biffle came close to the Cup title in 2005, winning six races in total, the most of any other driver that season. He eventually finished 35 points behind the title winner Tony Stewartwhile beating his teammate Carl Edwards in a tiebreaker due to his win tally.
Greg Biffle’s tragic plane crash left a trail of flames with a debris field spread 1800 feet from the approach end of the runway. Reflecting on the accident, a witness named Jeff Colley shared his first-hand account of the moments before.
“I figured what happened, but it looked like it came out of the airport and then it was just, you know, the sound they make when they’re bombing down, zooming. It was really screaming, really screaming. It came right at the house too fast to go anywhere right. I used to be a firefighter. I’ve seen a plane, but that sounded intense, but he said XW through a plane.” news
The National Transport Safety Board posted an important update on Greg Biffle’s fatal crash. They held a press conference and announced that the plane’s black box has been recovered. However, a preliminary report on the same is expected to take up to 30 days, while the final report is expected within 12 to 18 months, after sufficient due diligence.
Reports suggest the plane returned to Statesville Regional Airport within 10 minutes of takeoff, possibly due to severe weather and mechanical problems.
