The Miami Heat are moving on Jimmy Butler's report the desire to trade thinking that they can defeat the Boston Celtics in this spring, according to CBS Sports'. Bill Reiter.
According to Reiter, the Heat “accept that the Celtics are the best team in the East but don't see them as invincible.”
Reiter also said the Heat believe the playoffs, which the team has played in two consecutive seasons, are “essential” to winning the playoffs.
The Heat may need to get going without Butler. After the star said Thursday that he was not happy to play in Miami, ESPN's Shams Charania and Brian Windhorst He said Butler “indicated” to the team that he wanted a trade.
Charania and Windhorst also said that Butler “is open to playing anywhere other than Miami.”
According to Charania and Windhorst, Butler “plans to participate in all team activities and do whatever the Heat ask of him at this time.”
The report comes days after Heat president Pat Riley made the announcement words that the team would not trade Butler.
Butler never scored in double figures in two games after missing five games, and he did look upset in his postgame interview after Thursday's loss to the Indiana Pacers.
If Butler's public dissatisfaction with the state of affairs in Miami forces Riley's hand, the franchise's perception of a contender will shape the return that Butler wants.
According to Reiter, the Heat decided in internal discussions that the team was looking for “something important to help them win now” in a potential trade for Butler.
ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel recently stated that the Heat have expressed interest in Jonathan Kuminga during trade negotiations with the Golden State Warriors, but that the Warriors “have not been willing to include him in trade negotiations.”
Charania it has already been said Butler's agent said he would prefer a trade to the Warriors, Houston Rockets or Dallas Mavericks, but the latest report from Charania and Windhorst says he is ready to be traded to any team.
Although it is limited in dealing with teams that can receive Butler's salary of 49 million this season, in addition to his $52 million in games in 2025-2626, this will give the Heat more flexibility to find trades that will help them become contenders. on Feb. 6.
