The challenge: the battle of the ages aired episode 17 last week on December 18, 2024. The segment was the last before the finale and saw Cara Maria's journey come to an end after an elimination task based on water against Tori Deal.
After the cast member was eliminated, he spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his time on the show and discussed several things that didn't make the final cut. He talked about the drama between Johnny Bananas, Olivia Kaiser and Theo Campbell and noted that he was surprised no one had brought up “bed-gate.”
The cast member revealed that Olivia and Theo, whose relationship blossomed in Season 40, made their beds together on the Era 1 side after most of the team was eliminated. He said they wanted privacy, but other people had started sleeping in his “place”. He revealed that Johnny Bananas didn't want them on “this side of the house” and came up with a plan.
She said it was the “weirdest thing” and Olivia and Theo were “so angry” because Johnny was acting like they couldn't be “on that side of the house”.
“There was all this drama and we called it bed door,” he said.

While talking to Entertainment Weekly, Dear Mary reflected on it the challenge trip in season 40. She talked about some of the things that weren't televised, like her, Tori, and Olivia listening to Johnny Bananas' “sermons.”
“We were hearing him talking loudly and we were like, 'He's talking shit about us.' We were literally making a human ladder up to the balcony where Johnny was talking and we were listening,” she. he said
the challenge remembered the cast member of season 40 Michele Fitzgerald he got “so angry” that he came into the room and told Bananas that they heard everything. Cara then told Michele that she “blew up” her spot because they could have heard so much more.
Cara Maria called filming season 40 “Hilarious” and said the cast did their best to “live in Satan's hole”. He said it was hot in the house, but they did their best and remembered not to go out until dark to beat the heat.
Cara Maria was also asked about her “hot performance”. the challenge season 40 and wondered why they brought 40 people to compete on the show when they were going to be “dropped” in the first episode. The cast member wondered if there would be a reunion just for those people or at least an after show.
“If we didn't have a redemption house, then I feel like it was a mistake,” he added.

Cara thought it would have been “a lot crazier” if contestants wrote down their goals before elimination and no one knew who they were. He said it would have been an “instant turn” and would have caused more paranoia in the house.
The cast member also chimed in by giving Bananas a karma point during his elimination The challenge: Battle of the Ages. He said no one else got a low number and he gave everyone else a “five.” He said he didn't want to “mess around” with anyone's game, including Jordon, despite his troubled past.
