The Montreal Canadiens were eliminated from the Playoffs of the Stanley Cup in five games by the Washington Capital.
The Canadians snatched into the playoffs as the eighth seed, as they had an incredible second half of the season. However, Montreal was overloaded, as the Canadians could not keep up with the capitals, who won a victory in the series.
“It's disappointing,” said Brendan Gallagher, in the veteran striker, through NHL.com. “It only felt like every party that there was one or two things that were the difference, and this is part of the learning. You have to go through it. It was for most of our group the first experience here and it is the things you have to happen, a lesson that we hope they did not have to learn again. I guess they will say the same thing, I felt that each game was nearby. They only made a few less mistakes and burned us.”
After Montreal was eliminated, here were three players who disappointed more.
The Montreal Canadiens made a daring movement to acquire Patrik Laine In the low season to try to help your offense.
The old second global selection is known as a sniper, but its lack of defensive capacity and labor ethics has been hit.
In the playoffs, Laine only played in two games and had an assistance, but it was a -2. It ended up being scratched due to an injury, but if Mont -Real bothered Washington, Laine needed to produce more crime.
Ivan Demidov He played for his first Playoffs from the Stanley Cup when he made his debut on the NHL near the end of the season.
The Russian looks like a future star, as it has a great game capacity and can also mark. However, in the playoffs, he showed the lack of Demidov experience.
Demidov finished the series with 0 goals and 2 assists. But he was also a -5, as his defensive capacity was always a sign of question and fought at the end of Mont -Real.
Mont -RealJosh Anderson started with Tom Wilson and played a physical game, but what makes Anderson good is his defensive capacity and add a secondary score.
However, against the capital, Anderson struggled to produce. He finished the series with only 1 attendance and was a -2 and had 20 minutes of penalty.
The Canadians needed Anderson and the other depth scorers to get ready to beat Washington, but that did not happen.
