What happened to the former QB that caused retirement to 25

Cam Rising has announced his retirement from football. The old Utah quarterback is far from the game after coping with multiple long -term injuries in the last two seasons. He gave his decision with a statement to his social media pages on Wednesday.

“Due to a hand injury I suffered during Baylor's game, two orthopedic doctors have warned me that I will never be able to play football again,” Rising wrote.

“I will get a third medical opinion and submit to recommended surgery. I will continue to rehabilitate and do everything I can to achieve it healthy. Meanwhile, unfortunately I will be forced to remove -medically from the game I love.”

Rising's last injury came to the match against State of Arizona In October 2024. At the starting departure of Utah's game, the defensive lineman Jeff Clark gave him a success when he released the ball, it seemed that he fell to the right ankle of Rising. This marked his last game for Utah.

Cam Rising now starts in a coaching career, based on high school level. Return to his alma mater, Newbury Park (California), as an offensive coordinator and quarterback coach. His incorporation into the staff excites the school coach, Joe Smigiel.

“The knowledge and experience it brings are unmatched,” Smigel said, according to Sports Illustrated. “Not all great players are great coaches, but Cam knows their things and has the ability to communicate -it has already taught Brady in a short time. We are lucky to join our old staff.”

Cam Rising's race was repeatedly interrupted by injuries. He rewriteed in Texas in 2018 before transferring to Utah, where he was drafted in 2019. By 2020 he won the initial role and took the field against USCOnly to suffer a shoulder injury that ends at the encounter.

The quarterback presented the initial role two games in the 2021 season and appeared in 13 games that year, bringing the UTES to the title PAC-12. He returned in 2022 to lead the Utes to another PAC-12 championship, but suffered an injury to Rose Bowl against USC.

The Trojan injury kept him out of the entire 2023 university football season. However, he returned in 2024 after taking a medical Redshirt. Rising appeared in three games for Utah Last season before suffering another injury that ended his season.

There were talks to increase again for another season by 2025 after taking a medical Redshirt in the 2024 season. This would be his eighth season in university football. However, his last decision has ruled out the possibility.
