The former finalist of Grand Slam and a long -time commentator, Pam Shriver, was not pleased with what he played in front of him. She was looking Alexander ZverevThe quarter -final crash at Halle Open against Flavio Cobolli and could not help but notice the bad spreading effort.
On Friday, Shriver made a screenshot and shared his frustration with his followers in X. He searched the “X” giant's marks on the framing of the broadcast and said:
“X mark the place of my dear tennis, without understanding the pathetic one is to try to watch on television. (We can do it better) ๐พ๐”
The image he published showed that the camera was placed too far: shots, rally, rallies and most of the track.
The camera angles are a matter of worry about tennis, especially on not -so -low grass courts where the shade during the day games covers a large section of the track. Tribunals such as the surface of Halle's grass have low rebounds and a fast pace.
Without a suitable camera angle, it ends up being a bad visualization experience watching the games from afar.
Halle Open was not the first time Pam Shriver has called for better dissemination efforts.
During 2024 Open to the United StatesShriver hit the tournament organizers for matches in the early hours of the morning. He labeled the end of 2:15 AM as “unacceptable” and “non -human” for both players and fans.
He wrote to the United States Tennis Association for better programming after his coach client Donna Vekic Had to endure a late end. She wrote (through the telegraph)
“Kudos both Zheng and Donna for playing one of the best games of the mid -night year. It is an unacceptable situation that is not human for world -class athletes. Men playing five sets are the main culprit and start the ASHE stadium at 12h, especially once the parties get more competitive in the third round.
“The utes were the first to allow equal prizes and contribute final tiebreakers to major tennis. It is time to study what changes in the format of three of five must be made. It is not sustainable, given the depth of field and the average duration of the coincidences to keep the format the same.”
Shriver suggested initial sessions before at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. He also asked to change the men's matches with a better format of 3.
