England Pealer Jofra Archer He was chosen in the squad for the second test against India, from Edgbaston on July 2. It was the first call of 30 years in the test since February 2021, as the injuries have prevented him from playing in England in the longest format of recent years.
Archer's inclusion was the only change in the squad that exceeded India by five doctors in Leeds on Tuesday. June 24, to climb 1-0 to the five-game series.
“The Men's Selection Panel in England added Sussex Fast Bowler Jofra Archer to the squad for the second Rothesay test against India in Edgbaston, from Wednesday, July 2, 2025,” read a press release from the ECB.
Archer's last test game was against India in Ahmedabad in 2021. He has collected 42 doctors in 13 tests since his debut against Australia in the ashes test at Lord's in 2019.
He played for Sussex in the game of the county championship against Durham last week, where he sent 18 points and granted 32 runs, while he took a wick.
Former England Pealer Stuart Broad said it was the time that Archer re -paid the council for the contract Given to him by playing test cricket for the country.
“I guess England has had it in a red ball contract for several years since it had an impact for the last time. They will want to get some refund of this. I am sure it will play a role at some point if it is fit. It will only ensure that your body is difficult enough to be able to do the job,” said Broad.
Male Testing Squad of England: Ben Stokes (CAPT), Jofra Archer, Shoaib Bashir, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Brydon Cars, Sam Cook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Jamie Overton, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Josh Tongue, Chris Woakes.
