Joel Klatt made doubts about Carson Beck's ability to lead Mario Cristobal's Miami to CFP

Instead of declaring the 2025 NFL project, Carson Beck decided to return for his last year of collegiate eligibility. In January, he announced his decision to transfer to play the The miami hurricanes. Following the start of Cam Ward in this year's project, Beck is projected as the initial quarterback of the team.

On Monday, analyst Joel Klatt shared his thoughts about Miami's coming season. He ranked Mario Cristobal's team as the fourth best to make the playoffs this season. However, Klatt also shared his concerns about Carson Beck, his ability to lead a new offense in the field.

“The biggest question for Miami, at least in my estimate, is Carson Beck,” Klatt said to his program. “This elbow situation is important. He did not launch in the spring, but he started launching in May … I'm worried about this elbow.” (Time mark- 21:55)

Joel Klatt referred to the elbow injury that ended the Beck season in December 2024. He underwent a surgery to address the problem and lost the practice of spring as part of his rehabilitation process.

But in April, Mario Cristobal confirmed that the The Quarterback is ready To take the field for the team.

“It's here. It is ready,” Cristobal said during a Interview with CBS Sports. “Because we are at the end of the spring ball, we only took the additional caution to (wait) one more week.”

Carson Beck began his collegial journey with the Bulldogs of Georgia By 2020, after writing his first year campaign, the Quarterback served as a backup option before being named the holder in 2023.

Last season, Beck helped the Kirby Smart team on a 11-3 record while won the dry title and qualify for the playoffs. Unfortunately, they lost to Notre Dame in the quarterfinals game of Sugar Bowl.

According to Blake Toppmeyer from USA Today Network, Beck is one of his dream options that may appear as 2025 Heisma winner. He thinks the Quarterback has what is needed to be crowned the best university football player of the season.

“Beck headed the Heisman Runners list last summer,” Toppmeyer wrote. “Most of the other quarterback can still be released, and you should find access to your liking … If you keep healthy, retain the talent at Heisman level.”

The Quarterback begins its new trip with the Hurricanes of Miami in a seasonal opener against Notre Dame. The game is scheduled to play on August 31 at Hard Rock Stadium.
