Uconn's guard, Ashlynn Shade, was a key gear in the dominant Huskies team that won the regular season titles and the Big East Tournament, along with the national championship. For her contributions from the bench, Shade was named the sixth woman from the east of last season.
Shade celebrated his 21st anniversary on Saturday and received his birthday wishes from his Uconn teammate KK Arnold, who re -published the duo twice on the court in his Instagram stories. Arnold titled the publication:
“Happy Ashhh birthday !! Big 21 !! I love you.”
Ashlynn Shade and KK Arnold have been close to Huskies in 2023 and regularly celebrated the successes of others with healthy publications on various social media platforms.
During her first year season, Ashlyn Shade was a headline for a disorder team Injuries to key players such as the Azzi Fudd Guard. Shade was also a headline at the beginning of his biggest season (12 out of 17 beginnings) before becoming a reliable bank option for coach Geno Auriemma.
As a first -year student, Shade promised 11.0 points and 3.5 rebounds in 31.4 minutes per game, but due to his reduced role as Sophomore, his numbers were reduced to 7.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in 22.3 minutes per game.
During an interview with “CT Insider” on MondayAshlynn Shade revealed that he sought more leadership role with the elderly as the return Azzi fudd and KK Arnold next season.
“The most important thing I want to challenge this year is to be another leader of this team, being a vocal leader on the court and off the court,” said Ashlynn Shade. “Having experience, being a higher class now, puts me in a position to guide the younger boys and be another voice that people can travel.
“I know the coaches emphasize me, KK, Caroline and Azzi are the ones who have the most experience and are this voice with a new leadership. So we are trying to do our best to carry out this leadership and not let it slip.”
Despite playing only for two full seasons of university basketball, Ashlyn Shade registered more minutes (2,086) on the ten Uconn players' court. He even has more than Fudd, who joined two years before he (2,084 minutes), and despite the fact that KK Arnold plays more games (79), Shade still has 58 minutes.
