Bryson Dechambeau is one of the fans of this year's open championship. But it seems that his first lap was not what he expected. Dechambeau began his first lap trying the nine front holes, and everything went smoothly to the hole number four.
The hole par 4, 502 gardens, which is considered the second most difficult in the Royal Portrush Golf Clubgave Bryson Dechambeau a difficult time. After his shot, Dechambeau fought when he needed to hit the ball raw. He tried to hit the green but he completely missed his initial swing. During his second attempt, the ball was brushed by the club and fell on the slope, creating a nightmare for Bryson Dechambeau.
The golfer was able to finish this hole with a double bogey, and from this writing is +2 on the route, six shots behind the leader. An X page called Nucle Golf reported Bryson's struggle with a post that said,
“The Dechambeau disaster on the 4th 😨 Bryson completely missed its first shot and moved it a few meters from the hill in its second shot 🫨 @brysonlegion”
Prior to this tournament, Bryson Dechambeau had a fairly average performance at LIV Golf Andalucia. The golfer could not make a major impression and ended his tournament in the Valderrama Real Club with a total score of three on the par. It finished tied by 30th place after three rounds of -1, +1, +3 and +3.
Coincidentally, in the final round of this tournament, while attempted the 17th hole, Dechambeau found a situation similar to the aforementioned incident. And finished the hole with a double bogey.
Bryson Dechambeau It has a mixed story with the wind. He has experienced numerous wind-related obstacles, but in recent times he has tried to improve his ability to adjust to the wind. The Valderrama Real Club was no exception, as DECHAMBEAU said during the open championship preview conference.
The golfist explained what he is doing to counteract the wind affirming (Quoted by Asap Sports),
“But two, all I have done really is to hit more shots and try to play the wind much more. If it is a wind on the left, I will draw it. If it is a right wind on the left, I will try to cut it more often.”
The golfist continued,
“If I try to play with the wind, sometimes I lose control of the golf ball. This is what I did; as long as I had a wind wind on the left and trying to hit the draws, the man, this thing would go forever offline. These are few things that I have been working on. It would not be great to try in a massive wind tunnel? Yes, I would like to do it.”
Bryson Dechambeau still has a lot to yield the open championshipAnd who knows if he can return after this disastrous start.
