Ben Griffin reveals why he avoided the pilot at Wyndham Championship


PGA Tour winner twice, Ben Griffin, pursuing his third title at the Wyndham 2025 championship. During his first round, he deployed an unusual strategy and decided not to use a driver.

After his round, North Carolina's native to explain why he kept the driver far away. He explained that his decision was mainly due to the challenging wind conditions.

“The wind was really a challenge there. It turned a lot. It was supposed to be from the south -west and heard it was a new direction every two or three holes,” said Griffin.

“Due to this, I knew that the driver of many of these holes would sink over the tree line. And obviously, it is a tight golf course. It is more than a positional precision golf course. I felt that the risk was not worth the reward in many of the four quarters that struck it.”

Well griffin revealed that he usually uses five to seven drivers in a round. Given the results of his first round at the Sedgefield Country Club, he said that preventing the driver from being “not too bad”. However, he said that it must be “a little more aggressive” in his game.

The 29 -year -old golfist hit nine of the 14 roads in the round. He shot a bogey at 18 holes at the Sedgefield Country Club and is currently tied by 38th at the provisional standings.

This season has been good with Ben Griffin, who won his maiden PGA Tour Title by 2025 Zurich Classic of New Orleans with Andrew Novak in April. The following month, he won another victory at Charles Schwab Challenge, marking his second tour title.

Ben Griffin shot three birds on the new front and one at the back of nine. With a 3-Sota 67, it is six times back Joel Dahmenwhich has taken an early advantage.
