The WWE superstar, Dominik Mysterio, shot his father, Rey Mysterio, after making history at Worlds Collide on September 12, 2025. Dirty Dom is one of the few fighters who continue to keep alive Kayfabe.
At Worlds Collide, Dominik Mysterio defeated El Vikingo's Hijo to win the AAA Mega Championship. After his important victory, Dom has become a double champion, as he currently maintains both the intercontinental and the mega title.
Moments after winning the game, On the day of trial Star cut off a promotion in front of a full crowd. Dominik addressed the “deserving” fans, saying that he deserved to become a double champion. Dirty Dom also made several shots at his father, Rey Mysterio, saying that his father never won the mega championship or celebrated two titles at the same time in two different companies.
He then compared to the legend of baseball Ken Griffey Jr., mentioning that he will remain a “double champion forever”.

Bill Apter thinks Dominik Mysterio has “achieved hotter” in AAA than in WWE
During a recent Edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's NokriptBill Apter said he believed Dominik Mysterio had lost the “heat” in the WWE.
Apter added that he felt dirty Is hotter in Mexican promotion that in the promotion based on Stamford at this time.
“Now I will give him, what is happening to him now, I think he has lost a little of his heat. So I will agree with you and right now I will say that I will not say (not heat). I think we will see a division with him and the day of trial. It seems that they are awakening -a little. I think in terms of AAA, it has probably been hotter than it does in the WWE.”
