The Vancouver Canucks opened their season with a 5-1 victory over the Calgary flames at home on Thursday.
The Canucks will now go out on the road to play Edmonton Oilers on Saturday in a Pacific Pivot division match at 22:00 ET. In front of the game, here is the screening of the Canucks line.
Vancouver He won 5-1 on Thursday, as the offense had a great game. The Canucks were directed by Filip Chytil, who scored twice, scored Brock Boeser, Jonathan Lekkerimaki and Kiefer Sherwood also scored.
“It was good to see the different boys at the end,” Sherwood said after the game, via nhl.com
Braeden Cootes caused the team to leave the camp after the number 15 in the NHL project of 2025 was selected. In its NHL debut, Cootes skated at 11:14, but it was a -1. Whether or not you will exceed the nine NHL games before burning one year of your entry contract, you must see.
The Canucks blue line is led by Quinn Hughes, who is still one of the best proponents of the NHL. Vancouver retreated the same defense of last season.
Vancouver could start in Lankinen on Saturday but makes sense to return to Demko against the oilers.
Demko is the best goalkeeper and, on Thursday, stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced.
“I think the first game is huge,” said Demko. “You maintain the creation of impulse and, above all, the turnover we had from last year in our room and also in our coaching staff. It is a testament to the work that everyone put in summer and then through the camp. Obviously, 81 left, but it was a good first.”
Lankinen will probably start his first game on Monday against the Blues.
