Connor Zilisch accidentally reveals his key ally in Trackhouse before the official announcement

Connor Zilisch has revealed that Stefan Parsons will meet him at his Trackhouse entry next year. Parsons is also a part-time driver who will drive the #7 Spire Motorsports truck Friday at the end of the season.

Zilisch has had a record breaking season this year. Despite two injuries that have forced him to skip races, the 19-year-old recorded 18 consecutive top-5 finishes. He also had two hitting streaks, a three-game hitting streak in July and a four-game hitting streak in August.

As a development driver for Trackhouse Racing, Zilisch has also been selected for a full-time ride in 2026. He will replace the outgoing Daniel Suarez and join the likes of Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen.

In a press conference held on Thursday, Zilisch accidentally revealed an unofficial detail of his journey to the Cup Series. NASCAR analyst Bob Pockrass shared an excerpt from his interview with the following error.

“My watcher Stefan, I guess it hasn't been announced yet, but I guess it is now. Yeah, he found out about Ross last week and you know I'm looking forward to getting into the flow of things and the next series. It looks great to me.”

Stefan Parsons has also seen the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevy in the Cup Series. Parsons has made several part-time starts in the Truck and Xfinity series this year, with his best finish coming from a 12th-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway. Notably, Parsons is the son of former Cup driver and current Fox Sports broadcaster Phil Parsons.

Connor Zilisch shares early expectations for his rookie season

Connor Zilisch shared a pretty candid look at his preseason benchmarks for 2025. The Mooresville native currently has ten wins in 31 starts.

“It's great fun to be in Championship 4 with my teammates Justin and Carson. It's going to be a busy weekend in Phoenix, but I'm happy to be doing it alongside them,” said Connor Zilisch.

“Before the season started, my crew chief, Mardy Lindley, had me fill out a points and win prediction. I had us winning four races, so to sit here today with 10 wins and win the regular season championship and stay in the championship 4 times before, this No. 88 team has exceeded my expectations,” he added.

Connor Zilisch enters the championship race in Phoenix as the top contender. Battle against teammates Justin Allgaier, Carson Kvapil and Richard Childress Racing the driver, Jesse Love.

Zilisch opened his tally of victories at the Circuit of The Americas. He later showed his track prowess and won against Shane van Gisbergen at Sonoma Raceway. His victory at Daytona, however, came at the hands of Parker Kligerman, who took over as a backup to help Zilisch recover from collarbone surgery.
