Max Verstappen's girlfriend, Kelly Piquet, has shed light on the term 'Rainbow Baby' (baby born after a pregnancy loss), which she used to describe her daughter, Lily. In line with this, Piquet has created an Instagram story.
Lily Verstappen was born at the beginning of May this year, and this was revealed by Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet via social networks. Also, the duo knew the gender of the child since last year and with that in mind, Piquet recently added a photo of Verstappen to his Instagram stories and added:
“A year ago, we found out our rainbow baby was going to be a girl.”

On May 2, 2025, Max Verstappen spoke about his newborn son during the Miami Grand Prix race weekend, adding:
“Luckily, I got to spend a few days with them once he was born. It's been great. You never know what to expect, but it's been really nice and really special.” (Via: Motorsport).
Verstappen further highlighted his new role and talked about getting used to looking after a child from his time with Penelope (the daughter of Kelly Piquet and Daniil Kvyat).
“I'm like an extra dad with my girlfriend having a daughter, so I've seen her grow since I had her.”
Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet have been dating since 2020.

Although Kelly Piquet has defined the term 'Rainbow Baby' in regards to her and Max Verstappen's daughter Lily, the latter is barely managing to stay in contention for the 2025 Drivers' Championship. With just four races remaining, Verstappen (P3) is currently the championship leader Lando Norris for 36 points.
In line with the tough task ahead of Verstappen, former Alpine F1 team principal Otmar Szafnauer has hailed him as “the class of the field” but has put his money on the McLaren drivers Through an interaction with Racingnews365, he added:
“You have to go with a McLaren driver, even though Max is the class of the field. I've always said, from here until the end, the driver who makes the least mistakes or has the fewest mistakes will win. It's hard to predict DNFs.”
“It's hard for me to say from the outside, but it seems like in the beginning, Lando was maybe pushing a little too hard because Oscar was a bigger challenge than expected from the year before.”
Next on the racing calendar is this week's race Brazilian Grand Prix. In 2024, Verstappen made a sensational comeback from 17th to win the rain-affected race.
