The UEFA Europa League comes back with a new set of accessories com OGC Nice i Freiburg square at the Allianz Riviera Stadium on Thursday. While Julian Schuster's men could sit at the top of the table here, the French side will be looking to get their first win of the campaign.
OGC Nice were left with feathers last Saturday when they slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain after conceding the winner in the 94th minute.
Before that, Franck Haise's side were on a three-game winning streak in Ligue 1 and unbeaten in their last five league games (3W 2D), scoring 10 goals and conceding six in that time.
Nice, currently eighth in the Ligue 1 table, now head to the Europa League, where they have endured a difficult campaign so far, suffering defeats to Roma, Fenerbahce and Celta Vigo in their three games so far.
Elsewhere, Freiburg were held to a goalless draw by Union Berlin when the two teams faced off at An der alten Forsterei in the German Bundesliga last Saturday.
Before that, Schuster's men saw their nine-game unbeaten run end with a 2-0 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen on October 26, three days before they bounced back in a 3-1 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf in the second round of the DFB Pokal.
Freiburg now focus on the Europa League, where they have won two of their three games so far, against Basel and Utrecht, with a 1-1 draw against Bologna on October 2 sandwiched between the two wins.
While Freiburg have enjoyed a solid start to the Europa League, Nice have struggled to gain ground in the competition and will be looking for their first win.
Haise's men have won their last two home games, but we expect Freiburg to do enough to force a share of the spoils.
