Full List of Gujarat Giants Retained Players, Price Tags in INR and Remaining Purse


The most expensive franchise in the history of Women's Premier League, Gujarat Giants have announced their retention list for WPL 2026. The Adani Sportsline owned franchise has retained only two players ahead of the mega auction namely Beth Mooney and Ashleigh Gardner.

Both Mooney and Gardner have been instrumental in Gujarat Giants' WPL success. Under Gardner's captaincy, the Giants reached the playoffs for the first time in WPL history last season.

Team management will aim to build a new team around Mooney and Gardner in the upcoming mega auction. Reflecting on the team's retention list, Adani Sportsline CBO Sanjay Adesara said:

“With the WPL's first mega auction, we are entering an exciting new phase for women's cricket. Our aim is to keep our competitive core intact while opening up opportunities to build more around these two players at the auction. We have a clear vision of the team we want to build.”

Announcing the holding list for WPL 2026, GG coach Michael Klinger highlighted how the team played an exciting brand of cricket last season.

Klinger admitted that it was difficult for the team to part with some players, but they have retained two strong cricketers around whom the rest of the squad will be built.

Gujarat Giants Withheld Player List for WPL 2026 and Purse Value

Here is the complete list of players retained by Gujarat Giants ahead of WPL Mega Auction 2026:

  • Ashleigh Gardner – R3.5 million
  • Beth Mooney: 2.5 million rubles.

The Giants have consumed ₹6 crore of their total purse value of ₹15 crore for WPL 2026, meaning they will go into the mega auction with ₹9 crore available to spend. It will be interesting to see which players the Giants sign in the mega auction to round out the rest of their roster.
