John Cena He only has four dates left on his WWE retirement tour, the first of which will be next week's episode of Monday Night RAW. The November 10 edition of RAW will be a very special and emotional one for the 17-time world champion as it will be his last appearance in his hometown of Boston.
The episode is also expected to give fans some clarity on Cena's direction Survivor Series. John Cena is scheduled to appear at the event and fans are anxious to find out who he will face at the show. His father recently revealed who he thought Cena should take on in San Diego.
In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, John Cena Sr. stated that his son should face Dominik Mysterio at PLE for his Intercontinental Championship. He added that the build to the match can be done on next week's WWE RAW, where the younger Mysterio can attack Cena to set up the match.
“I think the guy he's going to face and has to face is Dominik Mysterio. You see the story is moving slowly, but of course, because if you want it, come get it. And Mysterio's response was, 'If you want it, come get it.' So in Boston, I think it's going to come to a head. If I was writing this, Cena might be a promo break. Mysterio puts him in the ring. That sets up the match for Survivor Series and hopefully if they're writing the end of the era there's a grand slam because it's the only title he hasn't had,” Cena Sr. said.
John Cena is a 26-time WWE Champion, holding many belts throughout his storied career. However, the Intercontinental Championship is not one of them, as the title has eluded him all this time. Giving him a short reign with the IC title would ensure that one of the best fighters in the business retires as a Grand Slam champion.
