'An asterisk for his postseason record' – Podcaster takes a shot at Dodgers ace for snide dig after 2025 World Series vs. Blue Jays

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays after seven hard-fought games in the Fall Classic to win their second consecutive World Series title.

After the win, Dodgers legend Clayton Kershaw reflected on the intensity of the series against the Blue Jays. When Dodgers teammate Mookie Betts asked Kershaw if it was the toughest series he's ever been to, Kershaw mentioned the 2017 World Series with a subtle dig at the Houston Astros.

“I've been in another seven-game World Series and we've lost it, well, there's an asterisk on that one,” Kershaw said on Betts' podcast.

Houston Texans podcaster Paul Gallant responded to the Dodgers legend highlighting his postseason record.

“If only there was an asterisk for his 13-13 4.65 ERA postseason record,” Gallant wrote in X .

Kershaw was the starting pitcher in Game 7 of the 2017 World Series against the Astros. The Dodgers lost the game 5–1, dropping the series 4–3 against Houston.

However, the Astros were found guilty of stealing signs during the season, which raised questions about the legitimacy of their World Series victory for many.

Dodgers fans booed Blue Jays shortstop George Springer for his role in Astros' 2017 World Series win

Veteran Blue Jays shortstop George Springer, who was part of the Astros' World Series-winning team in 2017, was booed nonstop by Dodgers fans during the recently concluded Fall Classic.

Springer was named World Series MVP for his heroics against the Dodgers in 2017. While the Blue Jays slugger played a crucial role in Toronto's run to the World Series that year, he was unable to replicate the success of 2017, losing the Fall Classic after a heartbreaking Game 7 loss at the Rogers Centre.

Meanwhile, Clayton Kershaw retires after winning his third World Series ring with the Dodgers, ending his storied career on a high note.
