Alex Pereira: “I will beat them both”

Khamzat Chimaev recently took to Instagram and issued a challenge to Alex Pereira and his coach Glover Teixeira.

Pereira, the UFC light heavyweight champion, he's been there Chimaevlooks for some time. The UFC middleweight champion wants to fight the Brazilian, even though Pereira is in a higher weight class.

Chimaev was speaking on Instagram Live and responded to a fan asking if he could beat Pereira. Not only was 'Borz' confident that he could beat Pereira, he added that he could also beat the Brazilian's coach, Glover Teixeira.

Teixeira is a former UFC light heavyweight champion and has been central to Pereira's rise in the promotion.

Khamzat won the middleweight title after dominating Dricus du Plessis at UFC 319. Pereira, meanwhile, regained the light heavyweight title from Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320.

Glover Glover

As Khamzat Chimaev looks to dismantle Glover Teixeira and Alex Pereira, the 'Poatan' coach has given him some praise.

While speaking in a recent interviewthe Brazilian-American appreciated Chimaev's skills and abilities. However, he did have one criticism against the middleweight champion, who was facing people who did not have a similar skill level.

“He's great, he's great. I like the way he talks and he backs it up. He comes back and shows. He's an amazing fighter. One thing I probably don't like about Chimaev is that sometimes he trains with guys and beats the crap out of people who aren't on his level. But he's an amazing fighter and he's too good on the mic.”

While there's no chance the UFC will sanction a two-on-one fight, Chimaev vs. Pereira also seems pretty far-fetched.

Pereira intends to face Jon Jones as a heavyweight and 'Bones' is also open to the idea. The White House event in 2026 could be the perfect card for this super fight.
