Abilities, special attack and ultimate


Leaks of Zhao's kit in Zenless Zone Zero provide some insight into the character's abilities. Unless HoYoverse decides to completely overhaul their skills, they will retain their skillset from the closed beta. For those outside the circuit, Zhao is confirmed to be a Defense specialist on Ice's roster.

It will arrive with the version 2.5 update, which will be released earlier than expected, as the current patch is only available for a short time. This article is more about Zhao's kit leaks at ZZZ.

Zhao from Zenless Zone Zero is an S-rank defense specialist, who according to leaks can heal allies and increase their HP. It can further increase the ATK of the entire team, allowing them to deal additional damage. The following section discusses more about your potential team:

basic attack

  • Zhao can activate his basic attack to unleash five slashes that deal physical and ice damage to the target.
  • Press and hold enter to enter charging state. Release the button to launch a forward slash.
  • It also accumulates charge time to deal additional damage with its alternate basic attack, chain attack, or assist follow-up.

Special Attack / Special Attack EX

  • Upon activating the special attack, Zhao performs a forward slash that deals ice damage to enemies. He also consumes a potion of his HP to heal allies.
  • Press EX Special Attack to continuously slash forward, dealing damage and restoring ally's HP. Activating the ability also gains some frost points, activating Ether Veil Wellspring on the max stack.
  • Activating the ability while under Ether Veil activates a Quick Assist.

Definitive

Upon activating the ultimate, Zhao performs a forward slashing attack dealing ice damage to enemies. Also, accumulate Frostbite Point and consume it to activate Ether Veil.

Basic skill

  • passive core: Zhao gains an additional CRIT rate based on his HP and accumulates freeze points when allies take damage. He can activate his entry ability to deploy Ether Veil, increasing the maximum HP of all squad members. The team also gains an attack buff.
  • Additional capacity: When there is a raid, anomaly, or break agent on the team, Zhao increases the damage of the entire squad while in Ether Veil. All allies also deal bonus damage based on Zhao's maximum health.
