After a heartbreaking end to the 2025 season at the WTA Finals, Amanda Anisimova has only one thing on her mind that will help her heal.


Amanda Anisimova hopes to be reunited with her nephews soon after facing defeat against Aryna Sabalenka in the semi-final of the WTA Finals. This was the American's first outing at the year-end championships, and she gained great experience by reaching the final four.

At the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Anisimova faced unbeaten world No. 1 Sabalenka. The Belarusian won the first set comfortably, but the match went into a decider after Anisimova took the second. However, Sabalenka came out on top 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 to advance to the final.

A few hours after the match, Anisimova shared an Instagram story where she uploaded several pictures of herself with her nephews. She captioned the story:

“I can't wait for this. They keep me sane”

In particular, Anisimova's four-year-old nephew Jaxon made an appearance during her impressive Wimbledon final. He expressed his happiness that his sister's family arrived in time to experience the atmosphere of the All England Club.

Amanda Anisimova has struggled a lot in her career before finally achieving a breakout year in 2025. She won her first WTA 1000 title in Qatar before reaching his first Grand Slam final at Wimbledon. The American backed it up with a second-place finish at the US Open.

She claimed another WTA 1000 title in China just a month before her first WTA Finals appearance in Riyadh. In the round robin stage, she started with a shaky loss to in-form Elena Rybakina before going the distance in her next two group stage matches to post wins over Madison Keys and Iga Swiatek.

In the semifinal, she faced world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, a rematch of the US Open final. The result, however, was similar as the Belarusian claimed victory. After the match, the finalist praised the performance of her opponent.

“Honestly, I wouldn't care if I lost this match, because I think we played an amazing match and we both deserve this place in the final… It was an amazing fight and I'm super happy to get the win,” said Sabalenka (via WTA ).

Anisimova will take a well-deserved break after finishing 2024 with a 48-17 record and a career-high ranking of No. 4 in the world. Meanwhile, Sabalenka will face Rybakina in the final of the WTA Finals.
