A'ja Wilson swoons over boyfriend Bam Adebayo with heartfelt words about love and vulnerability


A'ja Wilson looked so happy when talking about her relationship with her boyfriend Bam Adebayo. Wilson spoke of the Miami Heat star in terms of love and vulnerability despite being private about their personal lives. The pair have been rumored to be dating since 2024, with Wilson confirming their relationship in February.

In an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” on Tuesday, Wilson was asked about her relationship with Adebayo. She swooned over what they have because he goes out of his way to give her time, as well as let her be herself when they're together.

“Bam, it's a gem,” Wilson said. “He's a star, obviously, in his own world, but when it comes to us, he always shows up. His unwavering support, I mean, he was flying in and out of town, and he always shows up for me. I'm grateful to have a partner who goes along for the ride, like there in the moments when Wilson can't hold me all the time.

The four-time WNBA MVP added:

“I'm always grateful for his support. He's kind, he's kind, and I love that he lets me let my guard down, because I feel like I have to be on my toes. But Bam just lets me be the kid, the crazy girl that I am. And I thank him.”

The pair were rumored to be in a relationship when they were first spotted together during the 2024 Paris Olympics. Hey Wilson he later confirmed they are in a relationship during his shirt retirement speech in February at the University of South Carolina.

The accolades keep coming for A'ja Wilson, who was inducted into the Gamecocks Hall of Fame late last month. Wilson thanked everyone who was there for her during her college career, from coach Dawn Staley to her parents, family and teammates.

Wilson also gave a shout-out to Bam Adebayo, while also taking shots at his alma mater, the University of Kentucky.

“To my boyfriend, even though you went Ken-yuck-y and went to that royal blue school, thank you for the constant support always,” Wilson said. “You weren't there for young A'ja, but your support has always been there until this moment. So, thank you.”

Adebayo was also present when the Las Vegas Aces won the 2025 WNBA Championship, tying Wilson for her second WNBA Finals MVP trophy.
