AEW star Jon Moxley lost to his loyal soldier Claudio Castagnoli in tonight's Continental Classic tournament. The Death Riders have been together for over a year. However, fans believe that they will break up soon. The former AEW World Champion has failed to win important matches in his recent bouts. Rumors suggest that the faction may evict him soon. Things seem to have started to fall apart after tonight.
The bloodied One True King was shocked to have lost to a member of his faction and nodded in disbelief in the ringside as Marina Shafir consoled him. Interestingly, the Swiss Superman dominated his leader throughout the match. Currently, Claudio Castagnoli has won both of his matches in the tournament, while Jon Moxley has picked up victory in just one.
The former AEW World Champion has a huge chance to redeem himself this week. In Collision, he will face another great competitor in the Blue League, Konosuke Takeshita. The IWGP World Heavyweight Champion defeated Roderick Strong last week. Fans are excited to see who will emerge victorious when The Alpha and Ace collide this Saturday.
The one true king he ran The Blackpool Combat Club until last year and now leads the Death Riders. The former AEW World Champion rarely lost to any star and was therefore known as a leader. However, with the recent losses, The American Dragon questioned Moxley's credibility as a superior.
Moments after Jon's loss to Claudio, Bryan pointed out that no one at The Blackpool Combat Club could defeat The Ace, and thus the latter was named leader. Indirectly suggested that the Swiss Superman victory over Jon they can change things.
“When we were together at Blackpool Combat Club, I could never beat Jon Moxley, that's why we saw him as the leader. Claudio Castagnoli just beat Jon Moxley!” he said
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Death Riders.
