Big E was happy for a 27-year-old WWE star to use his finishing move, the big finisher, on a major show. He recognized the star and predicted many more World Championships to come in his career.
At NXT Deadline, the opening match saw the NXT Championship put on the line, with Ricky Starks defending the title against the flawless Oba Femi. It was a rematch from more than two months ago, where Starks dethroned the 27-year-old star. However, this time, the stakes were considerably higher as the winner would go on take on WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in Saturday night’s main event next week
Thanks for sending!
At a key moment in the match, Oba Femi would hit The Big Ending, which is of course Big E’s finishing move. Instead of being mad about it, the former WWE Champion acknowledged Oba Femi and praised him, stating that many more world titles are to come in his career.
Femi, the Nigerian-American star, has created a massive impact in NXT and now sits atop the throne once again. He held that spot for most of 2025, and for two months between late September and early December, Ricky Saints took him down. Of course, he would regain his title at NXT Deadline, with Sants seems to say goodbye to the brand after his handshake with Oba Femi.
Oba Femi is slated by many to become a future world champion, and the hype for him is not too different from what Bron Breaker received a few years ago. Oba Femi’s physique, aura and overall skills are what make him one of the most highly touted prospects in WWE’s developmental system. It’s unclear when he’ll make it to the main roster, but when he does, it’ll have a massive impact.
