CFB fans debate Diego Pavia's bold comments as Vandy faces Texas


Diego Pavia's No. 9 Vanderbilt (7-1) will play No. 20 Texas (6-2) on Saturday in Week 10. Before the game, the Commodores quarterback made some bold comments about his team and Texas while being interviewed by ESPN's Marty Smith.

“This is the Louis Vuitton sale versus an underground yard sale.” Pavia said.

When fans on social media heard about Pavia's comments, they had some interesting reactions.

“Two massive egos on the same plane,” tweeted one.

“Pavia keeps writing checks with her mouth that her ass can't cash,” added another.

“He would make a very interesting drunk at the end of the bar,” commented a third.

Entering the game against Texas, Diego Pavia has recorded 1,698 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, two interceptions and five rushing TDs this season.

Some believe Pavia is also in the running for the Heisman Trophy because of his stellar performances thus far.

The Vanderbilt vs. Texas game will be broadcast live on ABC. Fans can also stream the contest live on Fubo.

While Diego Pavia will lead Vanderbilt's offense, Texas quarterback Arch Manning has cleared concussion protocols and will start for the Longhorns.

As of this writing, Texas holds a 7-0 lead with just over 11 1/2 minutes left in the first quarter.
