In Florida's victory 55-0 on Liu on Saturday, Vernell Brown made history starting as a wide receiver and a return of tips. He became the third authentic first year receiver in the history of the school to start a seasonal workshop, joining Antonio Callaway and Percy Harvin.
But it was not his initial role that caught the attention of the fans, but it was a spectacular one -hand capture in a passage of 41 Lagway DJ gardens. This reception was Brown's third game, which set a program record to receive gardens for a real first -year student.

Brown's father, Vernell Brown Jr., has been playing in the corner in Florida since 2001-05, and his grandfather, Vernell Brown Sr. Cat.
Vernell Brown came in as a starter on Saturday after Dallas Wilson and Aidan Mizell were left out of injuries. He finished the game with three receptions for a total of 79 yards and added 60 yards in four shot returns.
Florida's main coach Billy Napier praised the powerful capture of 41 Brown Gardens.
“People will talk about that capture for a long time,” Napier (Via Alligator) said.
Gators will have to take the southern bulls of Florida this Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
