Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell did not rule out the possibility of Daniel Jones being the backup behind Sam Darnold in the team’s NFC Wild Card Round game against the Los Angeles Rams when asked Thursday.

Speaking to the media of his team’s depth behind Darnold, O’Connell said “they’re going to do whatever it takes to give us a chance to win here the whole way.”

After being released from the New York Giants in November, Jones signed with the Vikings sports team.

Tuesday, the Vikings he signed Jones on the 53-man roster and waived cornerback Brett Rypien, leaving Darnold, Jones and Nick Mullens as the remaining members of Minnesota’s roster.
