Days after Vinicius decided not to name Xabi Alonso in his apology, the Real Madrid coach makes his feelings about the official statement clear.

Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has expressed his feelings at being left out of Vinicius Jr's apology statement following the 2-1 win over Barcelona (October 26). The Brazilian forward took to social media after being caught up in a controversial brawl with Barca players following a fiery Clasico clash.

French superstar Kylian Mbappe's goal (22') was canceled out by Fermín López's equalizer (38'). A few minutes later, star midfielder Jude Bellingham, who scored Real Madrid's first goal, put his team ahead (42'), and The Whites held on for a hard-fought victory at the Bernabéu.

Vinicius was visibly frustrated after being substituted in the 72nd minute of the match, immediately heading for the tunnel without shaking Alonso's hand. Soon, he returned to the bench; however, after the full-time whistle, he tried to tackle BarcelonaLamine Yamal during a big fight.

Just hours after the game, the 25-year-old posted an apology to X that made no mention of Alonso. It read (via the BBC):

“Today I want to apologize to all Madridistas for my reaction when I was substituted in the Clásico. As I have already done in person during today's training, I also want to apologize again to my teammates, the club and the president.

“Sometimes the passion gets the better of me because I always want to win and help my team. My competitive nature comes from the love I feel for this club and everything it stands for.”

Asked about his omission from the star winger's statement, Alonso said (via MadridXtra to X):

“It was a very valuable, very positive statement. He showed his honesty, he spoke from the heart. The most important thing is what he said, and I was very satisfied. The matter was closed on Wednesday (October 29).”

Real Madrid are next in action in their La Liga match against Valencia on Saturday (November 1).

'It's unacceptable': Ex-Spain star slams Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr over 'self-centered' apology statement

Former Atletico Madrid and Spain midfielder Gabi punished the Real Madrid striker Vinicius Jr for his “self-centered” apology statement after the meringues Victory by 2-1 at Barcelona (October 26).

Talking to a Spanish radio station Chain SERsaid the 42-year-old player (via Football Espana):

“It's what I hate most about the footballer: the gestures, the commotion, being tested in public… everything you want but behind closed doors. Obviously, as soon as the game is over you have to talk to him, he can't let time pass, let him make a statement and the only one he doesn't name is the coach. It's unacceptable, it's a self-centered thing.”

Gabi has ensured that the team is always bigger than any single player. Interestingly, however, he stated that there is only one exception to the rule: Argentina and the Barcelona legend Lionel Messiand adds that Vini “has a problem”.

The Spaniard said:

“The collective is always above something individual, unless your name is Messi. (Vinicius) has a problem.”

With just one defeat in their first ten league games (nine wins), Real Madrid they are currently at the top of LaLiga (27 points), five points ahead of arch-rival Barcelona.
