Denny Hamlin He was not satisfied with Nascar to let NBC have the “greater voice” in shaping the format of the championship. He argued that deciding on the title based on a race end is unfair and called for a “larger sample size” to find the best driver.
This year, Bornac brought together a Playoff Committee to oversee the possible changes in the 2026 season. The committee, which includes drivers, team owners, manufacturers and the media, does not yet have to reach a consensus on the format of the championship, but the stations seem to have a greater opinion.
Their valuations are based on the drama produced by the current elimination playoffs that culminate in a race championship, and as such, media partners prefer to keep the status quo unaltered. By pointing out the same, Hamlin continued the offensive during the last episode of his podcast, Detrimental actions.
“A race is not the way to do it.
“I love that NBC has the greatest voice in what is our championship format, absolutely not. I did not have the impression they wanted to have such a great voice, but Nascar returned us and says that we must have a long discussion with them. They are the ones who should weigh it on it,” he added.
Denny Hamlin suggested that his retirement calendar could change according to the evolution of the playoffs. He revealed that he could “spend more time” if the Committee nails a “legitimate format”, where his possibilities are better with a more typical sample size.
Denny Hamlin admitted that he finds more satisfaction in the victory of the 23xi bricki that in their victories. He explained how it is “much harder” to win as the owner of the team than as a driver.
Reflecting on the same, Hamlin said (through the YouTube/Cup scene, 4:13 onwards):
“Building a team from scratch is a huge company. And so you feel more gratification because it had a hand in each small team in the race, from the brand to the sponsorship to the competition to everything.”
Hamlin finished third in Indianapolis Motor Speedway, despite starting among the markers at 39th. Bubba WallaceIn the meantime, he started in the front row and captured the late leadership in the race. The triumph marked the first victory of the 23xi season and ended with the drought without Wallace wins.
In the midst of the 23XI Racing legal stop with Nascar, Bubba Wallace's victory is a very necessary breath for team problems. With Toyota #23's team closed to playoffs, Denny Hamlin may be comfortable with knowing that the 23XI uncertain chaeper state will not reach the Wallace season.
