Dez Bryant claims the backlash is stronger for Shedeur Sanders because “not many black QBs were raised like him.”

Shedeur Sanders couldn't hide his excitement after making history as the first Browns quarterback in 30 years to win his first career start. He completed 11 of 20 passes for 209 yards, a touchdown and an interception, leading Cleveland to a 24-10 victory over Las Vegas on Sunday.

However, Sanders received backlash on social media for his post-game interview. He exuded confidence while talking about his performance to a CBS reporter, but many saw it as arrogance.

“It's amazing, you know, off a week of practice,” Sanders said. “This is a practice week. So, imagine what a full offseason would be like. A lot of people want to see me fail. It's not going to happen, you know? It's not going to happen.”

Former NFL wide receiver Dez Bryant did not approve of the criticism. He argued that given Sanders' background and training, his reaction was understandable.

“Yes Shedeur Sanders he rushed for a TD and started doing a dance like (Jaxson) Dart did scoring his first rushing TD, the media will have a field day,” Bryant tweeted Wednesday. “Shedeur is no trench baby respectfully, he grew up with 2 dads who walk with tremendous confidence.

“If my kids don't have confidence in everything they do, I'm going to have a problem. It's always going to look strong as long as it's not so many blacks who were bred and raised like the SS. I don't know the head coach of the browns, by the way, but I'm an energetic person. He doesn't fuck with Shedeur for whatever reason.”

Shedeur's father, Deion Sandershe was known for his brash, confident and polarizing personality during his NFL Hall of Fame career. Bryant implied that Shedeur receives a lot of criticism because critics believe that his mannerisms and comments often resemble those of his father.

Shedeur Sanders will face a tougher test against the 49ers in Week 13

Shedeur Sanders will start again for the Browns in Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers. Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski named him QB1 on Wednesday, two days after he led the team to its third win of the season.

The quarterback will face a tougher challenge Sunday as the 49ers (8-4) find themselves in the thick of the NFC playoff race.

While Sanders impressed last week, he will take on a San Francisco defense that thrives on applying relentless pressure and deceptive coverages on quarterbacks.
