Driver penalty points ahead of F1 2025 Las Vegas GP

F1's penalty points system is edging closer to delivering another scalp to Ollie Bearman as the Haas driver edges ever closer to the dreaded 12-point threshold. The system that was put in place in 2014 has led to Kevin Magnussen being banned from one race in 2024.

Under the system, if a driver commits an on-track offence, they are given F1 penalty points. The number of points depends on the seriousness of the transgression. If you accumulate 12 F1 penalty points over a 1 year period, you will be banned from racing.

In the last decade or so, drivers like it Max VerstappenPierre Gasly and now Ollie Bearman have been perilously close to being banned, while Kevin Magnussen ended up touching the threshold. That said, as we head into the Las Vegas GP, how do the drivers stack up in terms of F1 penalty points? Let's take a look.
