Rush began appearing on the main roster in 2020 following his NXT stint. Later that year, he was revealed as one of the members of the Retribution faction, under the name Slapjack. The following year, he was released from the Stamford-based company.

AX, Haste claimed that Slapjack was the man behind the mask that appeared at the Survivor Series Premium live event and cost Punk and his team a chance to win the Men's WarGames Match. It is very likely that the 40-year-old was being sarcastic with his comment.
