Harper Murray, Merritt Beason, Bergen Reilly, Ally Batenhorst and other Nebraska current volleyball players shared adorable reactions as Maisie Boesiger announced his commitment on Tuesday, May 27. Boesiger committed to his boyfriend Nolan Schwarting in a dream proposal in Kauai, Hawaii.

Boesiger and Schwarting were traveling to Kauai during a break in the Nebraska volleyball calendar. What began as a romantic getaway for the couple ended Schwarting by proposing Nebraska's volleyball athlete in a picturesque environment.

Harper Murray He shared his thoughts on the challenges and adjustments needed for a successful transition from high school to university volleyball. In a February 2025 interview with HURRED SPORTS 'WIREED AXCESSHe spoke of how athletics and competition level in the university differ from high school, adding (32:30 on):

“Athletics changes when you get to college, you are playing against girls who are four years older than you. So there are little things like now. I've always tried to work outside the gym.

“Volleyball does not know your age, it has no idea. So I think, on the back of your mind, this is something that must be taken into account,” he added.

He also mentioned in the interview that having the right mentality on the single age is not enough, as it is necessary to do hard work to meet the expectations, athletics and the level of competence needed to excel in college compared to high school.
