Clemson could still stay on ACC despite a clear departure route

“The ACC is an excellent adjustment for Clemson,” said Tiger Athletic Director Graham NEFF in a statement after the settlement on Tuesday. “The academic prestige and the reputation we highlight here in Clemson is a natural adjustment with other members of the ACC.

“The historical success of football that the league has had and that Clemson has currently had in ACC and access to the College football playoff; this is a fantastic house for Clemson.”

In the new distribution model, 60% of the ACC's total television income will be used for “brand initiative”, with a greater emphasis on recent viewing data based on an average of five years. The remaining 40% will be distributed evenly among all conference schools.
