Minecraft has many features to enhance the gaming experience. However, there are a few things that are needed to make things even better. This is where mods and texture packs come in. You can add more features or improve existing ones using these custom mods, and the Fullbright texture pack is one such mod.
The Fullbright texture pack is a lightweight resource pack that increases visibility in the game, so that dark areas such as caves, night surfaces, the Nether and the final dimension they appear as bright as during the day without the use of torches or potions. This article will explain how you can get the latest version of the texture pack and install it in Minecraft.

For the latest version of the Fullbright texture pack, go to official mod page on Modrinth. Here, make sure you are downloading the latest by checking the version tab. The specific version should say FUB 6.0 which supports all the new features that came with the copper age update.
Once you have downloaded the mod file, here are the steps you need to follow to activate it in your game. Save the .zip file in a handy folder because you'll need it.
- Start Minecraft Java and go to Options → Resource Packs → Open Package Folder to open the “resource packs” directory.
- Move the downloaded .zip file into the “resource packs” folder you just opened (don't unzip).
- Back on the Resource Packs screen, select the Fullbright pack in the left pane and click the arrow to move it to the right (active) side, then click Done to apply it.
- If Minecraft shows a “made for a newer/older version” warning, confirm Yes; this warning is common and does not block use in most cases.
For the Bedrock edition of the game running on PC and smartphones (iOS and Android devices):
- Download a Bedrock Fullbright package as a .mcpack from a trusted source; the creators often label it “Night Vision (Gamma)” or similar in-game.
- On Windows/iOS/Android, open or double-click the .mcpack to automatically import into Minecraft.
- Open Minecraft → Settings → Global Resources → My Packs, select the Fullbright pack and press Activate to make it Active.
- Load any world and try it at night or in the caves; the scene should appear much brighter while remaining a simple resource pack, not a game-changing plugin.
What does the Fullbright texture pack do?
The Fulbright texture pack does a nice trick on textures and lighting-related assets, so shaded regions are rendered with a much higher apparent brightness, giving a permanent effect. night vision experience keeping the rest of the game mechanics the same. This makes exploration, mining, and even combat much easier, especially for builders, racers, or players who have low-light vision problems.
It does not add actual light sources or modify light levels that affect mob generation; it just changes how the darkness looks on the screen. Many variants are also compatible with vanilla, OptiFine or Sodium based mods, and usually work in multiple builds with minimal issues. If the game warns about a version incompatibility, the package usually still loads fine.
