How to get Orsivane in Diablo 4 and its unique effect

Orisvane is a unique new item added to the Wizard’s arsenal in Diablo 4, and it’s unconventional. While most unique items add or enhance abilities, Orisvane transforms the Warlock into a true glass cannon build. Mace rewards players for not using defensive skills by increasing damage output, especially non-physical damage.

In this guide, we’ll explain how to acquire the Orisvane unique item in Diablo 4 and break down its effects.

Diablo 4: What is Orsivane?

Orsivane is designed specifically for Diablo 4’s Sorcerer class, perfectly complementing their offensive-heavy skill kit. Mace increases damage by up to 40% for each defensive skill missing from the skill bar, allowing the Warlock to be extremely aggressive and effective in late game content.

Statistics of Orsivane

  • +(99 – 113) Intelligence (up to +170 with mastercrafting)
  • +(3 – 4) to basic skills (up to +6 with mastercrafting)
  • +(57.0 – 75.0)% non-physical damage (up to +112.0% with mastercrafting)
  • +(424 – 457) Maximum life (up to +685 with mastercrafting)

Orisvane’s unique modifiers directly increase basic abilities and further increase non-physical damage. Builds like Chain Lightning Sorcerer and Frozen Orb Sorcerer can deal up to 112% more additive damage than usual when equipped with this item.

Orsivane’s unique effect

  • For each defensive ability not on the action bar, you deal 20.0 – 40.0% (x) increased damage and gain its associated charm effect.

This multiplicative increase in damage allows the warlock to unleash massive damage, which is further increased when multiple defensive skills from the action bar are deployed. This unique effect allows any traditional glass cannon warlock to deal much more serious damage.

Using Orisvane requires a smart playstyle and a strong understanding of the warlock class, as you will be playing without defensive skills.

How to get Orsivane’s Unique Mace in Diablo 4

Like most unique items, Orsivane can drop from a variety of sources, including random mobs and loot chests. However, some sources offer higher drop rates. Here are the main methods to acquire the Unique Mace:

1) Head farming

Farm ladder and uber bosses are the best way to target specific unique objects. Orisvane is part of Varshan’s loot pool. You can find Varshan in the Maligne Burrow dungeon, located in the Hawezar region (Writhing Mire). Once you defeat him, he’ll drop his hoard, which guarantees at least one unique item, potentially Orisvane.

To open Varshan’s treasure, you will need to gather 12x evil hearts. You can find evil hearts in:

  • Tortured Gift of the Mysteries (Helltide)
  • Whisper Caches
  • Kurast Undercity (Tribute of Titans required)
  • Astaroth (Climbing Nightmares)
  • Legion events

2) Nightmare dungeons

Orisvane can also drop from random enemies or chests, so farming high density areas is the best way to increase the drop chances.

Nightmare dungeons are particularly effective as they feature large mobs and elite packs that increase the chance of unique drops. Also, the rewards for completing these dungeons often give you rare materials and unique items like Orsivane.

3) World Bosses and Events

If you don’t want to fight mobs, there are several world events and minor bosses you can fight to get unique items like Orsivane. Events like Helltide and Gathering Legions offer much higher drop rates.

Among these, Helltides are the best choice as they allow targeted farming of specific items. During these events, collect Aberrant Ashes and spend them on opening Tortured Gift Chests. Opening the correct type of chest gives you a chance to get Orisvane.

For a chance to get Orsivane, open the following chests:

  • Tortured Gift of Light Weapons (cost 125 Aberrant Ashes)
  • Gift of Tortured Mystery (cost 250 Aberrant Ashes)

4) Play for one-handed weapons with obols

Obols can be acquired from random sources in Diablo 4. Once you’ve collected enough Obols, you can use them to bet on specific equipment in the Trivia Vendor.

For a chance to get Orsivane’s unique mace, bet on one-handed weapons (costs 50 obols). Although this method has the lowest probability of producing a unique item, it is a viable option if you have an excessive amount of Obols.

Orsivane’s unique mace is built to enhance any Sorcerer-built glass cannon in Diablo 4 by removing the integration of defensive abilities. These builds often require skillful handling due to their fragile nature, but with Orisvane, they can end boss fights with just a few hits.
